“The Rituals of Restoration During Grief,” Rev. Pratima Dharm. Rev. Pratima Dharm will speak on the topic of grief as a common human emotion experienced by people of all cultures around the globe. Though, the rituals of grief and their observances can be unique depending on particular regional and religious influences, shedding of tears are the most common human expression connected with grief. In most instances, it is the responsibility of the surrounding people or community to create the sacred spaces for individuals or families to express emotions of deep sorrow and sadness. These spaces grant the grieving person or persons the permission to cry not as a sign of weakness but as a powerful tool for profound compassion, kindness, restoration and healing to take place within the human spirit. Music from the WES Chorus.
