Artist Quilt and Statement
Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.’”

Courage is the mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear or difficulty; to confront pain and uncertainty in the struggle towards some goal. Courage to me means survival through the storms of life, struggling to survive and grow despite the challenges and difficulties we have to face. I experience it more in the personal realm than in the outer world. Courage to face one’s demons and losses, to fight through until you reach a better place where you can survive and enjoy life’s good things. This twisted tree represents that struggle to survive. Life’s challenges may twist and turn us, but we can persevere and try to grow into the light.
