WES is updating our photo directory! It’s exciting news, and we are hoping for 100% participation. Our photo directory helps to connect us as a community, and it helps us know each other, by photo and then hopefully in person. It is always the first thing I turn to when I’m trying to connect members–so many of us find that a photograph helps us to “recognize” a name much more easily.
Since we last did the photo directory, a LOT of new members have joined so the update will help us include many more people. These directories are free to WES and to you! We work with the Lifetouch company, with whom we had a good experience in the past.
Please schedule your session here:
Photography for the directory will be on January 23, 24, and 25 from 1:30-8:30pm, and February 6, 7, and 8, 1:30-8:30pm.
You may bring any other family members you wish–if family is visiting, please feel free to bring them along for an extended family photo shoot! They won’t be in the directory (a separate photo will be taken of WES members for that), but you will have a free portrait sitting, and of course, though Lifetouch is hoping you will buy prints, you are under no obligation to do so. You may even bring pets if you like. You will, in addition to the portrait sitting, receive a free 8 x 10 of the WES directory photo. The sitting will take no more than an hour.
The last time we did this we had nearly 100% participation and we are hoping for the same again. Though some members were initially wary, almost everyone loved their portraits and did not feel that the process was difficult or misleading. I ended up getting some great photos of my family, but I also felt that it would have been completely okay not to–it wasn’t a high-pressure environment.
PLUS, for those who do decide to buy photos, WES will receive 20% of the proceeds–this is a new feature. And, if you’re over 60, a Vet, or a first responder, you will receive 20% off any order you choose to make. There are some other discounts available as well. Details of the nuts and bolts will follow.
Please be in touch with Carol Clayton (email@example.com) with any questions!
Thank you for your participation in this great tool, which has the power to connect us and facilitate our work together.
