Human Nature in the Time of Covid-19

From the Biology Book Group

Interested in knowing more about our current plague? A new book tells us how it started, why it is so unprecedented, how it may end, and how it will certainly change us. The book is “Apollo’s Arrow” by Nicholas Christakis. Christakis is the Director of the Human Nature Laboratory at Yale University.

The WES Biology Book Group has picked “Apollo’s Arrow” for discussion in our December and January meetings. For December we will cover chapters 1 through 4.

Here is what you may want to know about the WES Biology Book Group. Anyone can participate in our meetings whether or not they have read the book or have a background science. One of us leads the discussion by summarizing significant ideas in the book. The group discusses what is in the book and anything that comes up in connection with it.

If you’d like to visit the group, we meet on the second Sunday of each month (with occasional exceptions) and we meet by Zoom nowadays. We start at 1pm and usually end by 2:30pm. Watch for the Zoom link in the WES News & Notes or you can subscribe to our mailing list by clicking http://eepurl.com/guqlFD
