A Platform from Verdell Wright

Join us for a platform from WES’ Senior Leader KC Slack. There is a seat saved for you in our main hall at 10:30am. If you can’t make it in person, we hope you’ll join us on zoom at tiny.cc/wesplatform.

An article from 2019 describes Verdell as, “As a trained theologian with degrees from the Howard School of Divinity and Wesley Theological Seminary, Verdell A. Wright is an atheist who knows the Bible well. In fact, while he enjoyed pursuing his theological education, he often found churches somewhat intellectually stifling. As he once remarked, “Depending on what church you’re going to, a good semester of seminary, and you know more than a lot of pastors!” Verdell also retains the ability to recognize healthy religion, however, and he once observed, “You can still be a believer and get rid of a whole lot of the unhealthy things that we believe about ourselves and others that we get from church, to be frank.”’ See the full article here.
