A message from Amanda Poppei, our Senior Leader, on the mass shooting in Las Vegas:
My heart breaks, not just for Las Vegas and all who have lost those they love in the latest, and perhaps deadliest, shooting yet–but for America. It breaks for a country whose lawmakers cannot stand up to corporate interests who care only about the profit from their guns. It breaks for a country where violence is so often glorified, and where men especially absorb evil stores of destruction. It breaks for all the children who face gun violence every day, the streets in which they play turned into a battlefield. It breaks for all of us, that we live in fear and yet have not yet found the love and strength to declare an end to the carnage. My heart breaks today. And tomorrow I will fight again.
