This year, the folks who have had recent leadership for the Humanist Seder aren’t able to lead it. We have the time reserved at WES–Saturday, April 7, in the early evening–but need leadership to make it happen.
And, we have another option: to join Machar, the humanist Jewish congregation in DC, at their seder. That will be held on Sunday, April 1 at Cedar Lane UU Church. The Machar seder holds a $20 per person cost because of the space rental, and WES would be happy to support anyone for whom that cost would be a barrier. In future years, we may be able to explore a deeper partnership with Machar, a community with which we share many of our humanist values.
If you would like to take on leadership of a seder at WES, please let Amanda know at amandap@ethicalsociety.org. If you would like, instead, to be part of a group attending Machar’s seder, please let her know that!
Looking forward to continuing long-standing traditions, beginning new ones, and finding a balance that allows for both creativity and memory to be held with love.
