WES Blog — Blessing of the Animals

“In their innocence and wisdom, in their connection to the earth and its most ancient rhythms, animals show us the way back to a home they have never left.” –Susan Chernak McElroy

On Sunday, July 14, we’re going to do something different, our service will be an Animal Blessing. It is a way to honor and recognize the animals in our lives and their importance to us. Our service will be shorter, about 45 minutes, as I’ve learned our critters can get a little restless! So please bring your furry, feathered or finned friends for this special service. It’s best if you bring your pets on leashes or contained in some way. You can also bring pictures of your pets, even on your phone or tablets, and I’ll honor and bless the pictures. And…stuffed animals are also welcome!

Come join us for this fun service as we celebrate the animals who often show us the way back home.

Warmly,

Kären Rasmussen, Sabbatical Clergy
