WES Blog — Summer is ending…and fall is ramping up!

Despite the 94′ day today, we are nearing the end of DC’s hot season, which means that fall is just around the corner. I’m buying looseleaf paper and three-ring binders for school, and I’m also working with so many amazing WES folks as we prepare for the “opening” of our regular season.

Starting September 8, we will be back to two platforms, at 9:30am and 11:30am–and we feel like celebrating. The 8th is a big neighborhood yard sale in Shepherd Park, and we thought it might be fun to connect with our neighbors, and each other. We will be hosting two food trucks–A’s Grill, which sells falafel and gyros, and Captain Cookie–and a moon bounce! We hope that neighbors will stop by, and that you’ll make a point to come early or stay late and grab a bite with old friends or make some new ones. We’ll have tables set up outside, and chalk and bubbles out to play with, because who doesn’t like bubbles?

SEEK parents will receive registration links soon to get their kids all set for the coming year; remember that registering really helps us know how to best support your child. And we have a great platform line-up in September, starting with Christian Hayden on September 1 (still one platform at 10:30am). Don’t miss the decluttering workshop on September 22, or the “part two” Enneagram workshop on September 29! You can check out everything that’s planned in our online calendar, including our ongoing Book Group, Biology Discussion Group, Meditation Group…all the ways to connect in at WES.

As always, if you want to be involved in something at WES, from a small group to music to teaching to immigration work, please send me an email! I’ll be glad to connect you to the right person or team.

Here’s hoping your last few weeks of summer are good ones…and here’s to the chance to reconnect in the fall!

Warmly,

Amanda
