WES Blog — Time, Talents, and Treasure

This has been a strange year, one that has strained both our patience and our connection to one another. We’re proud, however, of the ways in which WES members have come together.

Whether through the fun and frivolity of the auction, by keeping important community traditions like Stone Soup and Winter Festival alive in our new virtual world, or by supporting fellow members through Meal Trains, or simply by reaching out to say hi. WES members continue to give generously of their time, talents, and treasure.

As we look forward to 2021, our hope is for WES to remain strong, solvent, and resilient, to continue to be a hub of connection and refuge, as well as an engine of change. One way we can ensure WES’ continued vitality is with our financial gifts. Donating to WES is one way we gather our resources together and pursue WES’ mission together. It is a way of being part of something larger than ourselves, and of increasing the reach of an organization that represents and promotes our values in the world.

As you know, like many organizations, WES’s budget has been strained due to COVID-19. Lower rental income, combined with many fixed costs, means that things are tight right now. Many of our fellow members are struggling in their own right, and are unable to give to WES as they have in the past.

Member generosity to the Connect Campaign is helping us to sustain our programs. If you didn’t have an opportunity to give during the Connect Campaign, every little bit helps.

Now is the time to give as generously as you are able, so if you are considering making a year-end gift to nonprofits that are meaningful to you, please consider making a special gift to WES. It is an investment in the community we are building together each day.

With gratitude,

Hannah Urrey, on behalf of the Stewardship Team
