WES Blog — Welcoming Our Newest Trustee

The Board of Trustees is excited to announce that Kate Lang will be re-joining the Board to fill the recent opening. We are thrilled to have Kate back on the Board. She brings with her two years of recent WES Board experience and a wealth of professional and interpersonal skills. We are grateful to the LLDC for their support of this process and to Kate for agreeing to serve the remainder of the open term. Welcome, Kate!

Kate is joining the Board as we finalize the activities and milestones for the 2020-2021 Board of Trustees Goals, including:

  • Continuing the multi-year effort to ensure WES has appropriate policies and procedures in place;
  • Supporting Lyn and the WES Reopening Task Force as we navigate operations in a COVID-19 environment; and
  • Conducting discernment activities during the Interim Period, including revisiting the WES Statement of Purpose as outlined in the Constitution.

In addition, the Board will conduct other required tasks like Interim Senior Leader oversight, creating opportunities to connect with the community, and maintaining our fiduciary responsibilities.  You will hear more about our goals and progress at the upcoming Fall Membership Meeting on November 1st, immediately following Platform.

Finally, the Board wants to thank Doug Miller for his service to the WES community.  It’s been a pleasure to serve alongside Doug on the Board, especially as we worked together to navigate challenging and unprecedented events!  Thanks, Doug!

Best,

Lauren Strange, on behalf of the 2020-2021 WES Board of Trustees*
