Winter Festival – Casting call 10/15 and more news!

Exciting news! We have a special opportunity this year for the children and adults involved in Winter Festival to work with a professional theater director, Gretchen Weigel. We will be using a beloved script from a previous year, and incorporating all our usual traditions–while also having the chance to learn and grow with the director’s support. Shelby French and Jeff Mehall will both be serving as WES supports for the director, and bringing their own history and talent to the show!

A little about our director: Gretchen holds an MFA in Theatre and has directed in New York, London and regionally. She has worked in educational theatre as well as professional theatre and has also directed and acted in film and opera. She heads up local acting classes and camps through On Stage Takoma in partnership with the City of Takoma Park and various local schools and loves to nurture imagination and see kids bloom in character.

Please join Gretchen for a casting call on Tuesday, October 15 at 7pm in the Social Hall. (Spoiler alert: everyone is getting cast! Gretchen wants to get to know you and what you might be interested in–no need to prepare anything). If you can’t make that time, but are interested in being part of Winter Festival, whether you are interested in acting, costumes, set design, or more! please let Amanda know.
